Rebuild # 1

First in is the newly run in motor.

New head bearings chill so they slide in easy.

In place now on with the triple clamps.

The kit from pyramid was not an easy fit the top race was proud 7mm and the bottom went well inside so i needed to add a 2mm washer on the bottom, I did have this in another kit for my Kawasaki S 3.
I had to remove the bottom bearing off the triple shat to add the spacer, a big pain but done now.

Top race nips up in the correct place now.

New re hard chromed forks and seals on next.

Center stand next.

re Zinc spring and arm thanks to John Fisher, great job.

All greased up and new split pin.

Friday 6 December 2013

The Lump into the frame single handed.

Bike Lift waiting.

Engine on its side Gen uppermost ready to lower the frame over.

Frame suspended by several bungees.

Plenty of newspaper for protection, I don't want to scratch the frame now.

Slowly raising the lift and tweaking the frame easy does it. Spot the deliberate mistake, oil filter still on.

Shes in, it must of taken 30 mins of pushing and shoving but well worth looking after the frame.

Up right and on my scissor jack.

Looking good just the lower bolts in for now.

OK now the hard part is done we can get on with the build.

The Rig

As you need to take the engine out of the frame to do any work on the engine and the need to retorque the head after running i thought why not make a rig so I can iron out issues that may arise as I have rebuilt the engine so there will be a a few things to sort out. This way I will only have to put the engine in the newly painted frame.
Feet to keep it stable

Oil tank bracket ( I make all my stuff industrial strength)
A royal pain getting the silencer

Battery box
Next stop bracket for the solenoid

Solenoid in place and all the wiring.
Starter  button working

Oil tank in place

Ignition switch all wired up

Coils wired in on a arm

Carbs on.
